LEARN supports family literacy through a variety of programs. See basic information below, and have a look at our newsletter for times and dates.

All programs have free transportation if needed for families.
Digital Literacy Class
A FREE eight week course covering a variety of topics, ranging from basic online safety, to social media platforms, to QR codes and AI.
When: Wednesdays 6:00pm - 7:30pm, February 4th - March 25th
Where: Medicine Hat College
A FREE virtual program for families with children in Medicine Hat Public School District ELPs. Materials will be dropped off at your home throughout the program, and videos of activities posted in a closed Facebook group, for you to follow along with. Limited spaces available!
When: Wednesdays, February 25th - April 1st
Growing Child, Growing Parent
A FREE ten week program for parents to attend with or without their children. Join us to strengthen your parenting skills and enjoy quality learning time with your children.
When: Thursdays 10:00am - 1:00pm, January 15th - March 19th
Where: Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub 440 Maple Ave SE
Learning English Together
An eight week program for newcomers to Canada, refugees, and permanent residents, focusing on learning new vocabulary while having fun. Topics include holidays, food, sports and recreation, transportation, and every day skills.
When: Fridays 10:00am - 11:30am, January 9th - February 27th
Where: SAAMIS Immigration Services Association 221 4th Ave SE (Downtown)
Reading Club
A six week program for newcomer to Canada, refugees, and permanent residents. This class will focus on reading and speaking English for adults. Learn from a variety of short stories, newspaper articles, and poems!

Roots to Reading
A six week program for families with children aged 0-6, focusing on building connections through stories, activities, and fun.
When: Fridays 10:00am - 11:30am, January 9th - February 13th
Where: Miywasin Parent Education Space 435 3rd St. SE (lower entrance door)
